HU President discusses further collaboration with JLU President, Giessen, Germany

Dr. Ayano Berasso, President of Hawassa University, is visiting the Justus Liebig University of Giessen, Germany, to share important experiences on university autonomy and related topics.

The president has met top officials of the hosting university led by Prof. Dr. Joybrato Mukherjee, President of JLU. The officials shared ideas on structural issues and managerial experiences in Giessen including internationalization, autonomy of university and internal scheme of budget administration, student placements and human resources managment where the university is autonomous.

They have farther discussed areas of collaboration including staff and students exchange, improvement of research centres, experience sharing schemes on major university activities such as joint academic and research programs on the basis of mutual interest.

Director of the Institute of Policy and Development Research (IPDR) in Hawassa University, Prof. Tesfaye Semela, and Director of International Relations and Alumni Affairs Directorate (IRAAD), Mr. Yohanan Yokamo, are also involved in the experience sharing visit at JLU, Giessen with the president.
