Hawassa University has won the REDAA funding grant after a very stiff competition among more than 1,200 applications submitted from institutions across the globe.
The proposal submitted by Hawassa University is now one of the 21 proposals selected for funding, which calls for a warm appreciation and gratitude for our staff, Dr. Awudenegest Moges, for his professional dedication and efforts to realize this success!
Project title: "Local-level land degradation assessment towards sustainable land management for improved livelihood in the Ethiopian Rift Valley"
Overview: Community-based action plans and sustainable land management interventions are co-developed to address land degradation and improve livelihoods in the Ethiopian Rift Valley. This includes land degradation assessments, locally-led participatory approaches, gender-sensitive and low-cost site-specific business models, and local capacity strengthening.
