A total of 29 individuals sat for the exam in this second edition which is a double increment from 14 in the first round.

Dr. Mihireteab Abraham who is the coordinator of the IELTS Exam Centre at HU pointed out that the number of individuals interested to take the exam at Hawassa University is increasing from time-to-time due to different factors and there is also a need among the potential exam candidates to get exam preparation trainings.

English Language Improvement Center (ELIC) at HU has co-facilitated the overall candidate registration, promotion, and exam administration process in collaboration with the British Council team and the various concerned offices of Hawassa University mainly College of Social Sciences and Humanities,  Department of English Language and Literature, Office of the President, Office of Vice President for Administration and Development, and Office of External Relation and Communication.

The coordinator remarked that the next round of IELTS exam session at HU will be conducted in a couple of months’ time and the registration is already being undertaken. IELTS exam preparation is also part of the service that the center provides through its British Council certified trainers.
