A high-level delegation led by Hawassa University President Visits Norway

A high-level delegation led by Hawassa University President, Dr. Chirotaw Ayele, is currently on an official visit to Norway, marking another major milestone in over three decades of fruitful Ethio-Norwegian cooperation.

The primary focus of the visit is evaluating the performance of the Institutional Collaboration Program Phase V (ICP V), a landmark initiative generously supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Addis Ababa.

Key highlights from the high-level engagements include: reviewing the impact of ICP V in driving climate-resilient agriculture, graduate training, and institutional capacity building at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU; and conducting strategic discussions at the Oslo headquarters of the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) to reinforce the long-standing strategic partnership and explore new avenues for sustainable development, academic governance, and joint research.

By bridging high-impact academic research with practical public policy, this enduring 30-year alliance continues to empower communities and inspire sustainable solutions for national development. Our sincere gratitude goes to NMBU, NORAD, and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Addis Ababa for their unwavering commitment to academic excellence and shared progress in Ethiopia over the years and still counting.
