HU Education Programme Updates

Hawassa University (HU) is running 60 undergraduate and 37 graduate programs in different
fields ranging from Medicine and Health Science; Natural and Physical Sciences; Technology; Agriculture; Forestry and Natural Resources Management; to Law; Business, Humanities and Arts.

The university has 4 campuses, 3 colleges, 4 institutes, 25 departments, and Teaching Hotel and Hospital.

Conference: International Academic Collaboration and Mobility

Over 3700 Students Graduate from Hawassa University

(19 July- Hawassa) On truly eventful and memorable convocations held on 17-18 July at the Colleges of Agriculture, Medicine and Health Sciences as well as at the Main Campus, Hawassa University graduated 3708 students from different programs. Of this, 1743 are from different departments of the Main campus, 945 from the College of Agriculture, 619 from the College of Medicine and 401 from the College of Forestry (whose graduation took place on 10 July).

Present on the occasions were invited dignitaries, guests, staff, graduates and their families. The heavy presence of thousands of graduation-related visitors was felt both by Hawassa University community and throughout Hawassa city.

Waginigen University and The Netherlands Embassy officials visit HU

(9 July 2010 - Hawassa) A team consisting of the Ambassador of The Netherlands to Ethiopia, the Rector of Wageningen University, other officials from the WU and the embassy visited HU on 9 July 2010.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

College Graduates 401 Students

(10 July 2010 - Wondo Genet) Hawassa University's   College of Forestry and Natural Resources
graduates 401 students on degree programmes on 9 July 2010.

The graduates were congratulated by university officials on successful completion of the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes from the departments of Forestry and Natural Resource, Wildlife and Ecotourism.

Dr Admasu Tsegaye, the President of HU congratulated the graduates and thanked the university community, the students and their families for successful outcome.
