Our Horticulture Program proudly participated in HortiFlora Expo 2026, Ethiopia’s premier international horticulture and floriculture exhibition, held from 24–26 March at the Addis International Convention Centre.
The staff of Horticulture program presented research findings on roots and tubers, rapeseed oil, and highlighted the potential of tissue culture technologies for high‑value crops. They also shared their work on postharvest handling practices and introduced a new cold‑chain technology developed to reduce losses and improve market quality of fresh produce.
In addition, they promoted our undergraduate and postgraduate horticulture programs, as well as upcoming training opportunities for farmers and professionals, reinforcing Hawassa University’s role in advancing Ethiopia’s horticulture sector through research, innovation, and education.
