Announcement: PhD Supervision Training Program

Hawassa University is pleased to announce a PhD Supervision Training Program designed to enhance the supervisory skills of academic staff engaged in PhD supervision. The training will be conducted with a focus on fostering high-quality PhD supervision & professional development.


Eligibility Criteria

Participation in the training is open to applicants who meet the following criteria:

✔️ Hold a PhD Degree.

✔️ Demonstrate motivation to improve PhD supervision skills.

✔️ Commit to completing the full training program (no certificates will be awarded for partial completion).

✔️ Be actively supervising PhD students or have prior experience in PhD supervision.

✔️ For female applicants: Must be actively supervising MSc/MA students or have prior experience in MSc/MA supervision.


Selection Procedure

🔹 Applicants must complete and submit an application form, which will be reviewed by the Graduate Studies Director in consultation with Academic Vice President

🔹 Supervision TrainingA maximum of 12 participants will be selected for each training session.

🔹 We aim for 40% female participation (4 to 5 female participants per session).
