Representatives of Toyo Solar Company Hold discussion with Hawassa University.

Mr. Li Zikang, Senior HR Officer, and Mr. Yang Lianfeng, EHS Manager from Toyo Solar company held a fruitful discussion with the Vice President for RTT and other directors at Hawassa University about prospects of collaboration.

The officials from Toyo Solar have pointed out their company's interest in investing in the Hawassa Industrial Park in a couple of months where they require to recruit about 1500 people from local market. They are especially interested to recruit graduates of the prestigious Hawassa University specialized in the areas of physical science and engineering, computer science and related fields as well as English and Chinese languages.

Dr. Tafesse Matewos, Vice President for RTT at HU, assured the company representatives that what the company has planned to establish in Ethiopia is in alignment with the national aspiration to create a climate change resilient environment and HU has a longstanding experience of having competent graduates the company can hire.

Dr. Emebet Bekele, Director General of External Relations & Communication at HU added that both the university and company will benefit from a formal collaboration by signing MoU once the decision to invest in Hawassa is made on their part. The collaboration will serve mutual purposes as the university students and staff will get a chance for internship and externship whereas the company gets a chance to recruit capable manpower.
