Integrated River Basin Management (IRBM)

This project aims at  Strengthening Ethiopian Universities in Integrated River Basin Management Integrated through a core method of University Water Sector Partnership.  

It is NUFFIC (Dutch) funded project to strengthen eight universities. The project is hosted by the Addis Ababa University, Innstitute of Technology. The project involves UNESCO-IHE, Meta Meta, Wagingen University, from the North

USAID :- US-African Universities (HEI) initiative.

Sustainable Water Resource Management. The project is at the inception phase. It involves collaboration with University of Connecticut from USA and Addis Ababa University, Mekelle University, Arbaminch University, BahirDar University and Hawassa University locally.

Collaboration with the Netherlands Development office (SNV) on local capacity Active works are going on in the area of WaSH on various issues including guided distance learning for TVET graduates and Water, Sanitation and Health (WaSH) program. Preventive Operation and Maintenance of Water supply Schemes, Management Information System regional Level

Other Collaborations include:- MIS development for WaSH database at National level with MoWE and UNICEF, Management development for regional bureaus such as water works and Women and Youth Bureau.

Moreover MoU is signed with different institutions such as Hawassa Chip wood Factory, SNV, TVET etc to work in collaboration for mutual benefits.
