Welcome to Hawassa University (HwU) located in the Great Rift Valley Region, and situated at the heart of the vibrant city of Hawassa, the capital of Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Regional State. HwU is a comprehensive University that aims at delivering teaching and learning; research, community and consultancy services. The University offers more than 60 fields of study in undergraduate and 43 fields of study in postgraduate programs in different faculties that include Natural & Computational Sciences, Medical & Health Sciences, Business & Economics, Governance and Development Studies, Social Sciences & Humanities, Technology & Informatics, Agriculture, Forestry & Natural Resources. More than 22,000 degree seeking students are attending HwU.
I believe that the key for the success of a University is a vibrant student, faculty and staff communities and the availability of facilities. You’ll find it all here at HwU. Moreover, you’ll be excited to study at HwU because of the excellent up-to-date modular based curriculum where students are evaluated based on European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
