National Conference on Agriculture, Natural Resources and Climate Change

April 25-26, 2019, College of Agriculture, Hawassa University

College of Agriculture of Hawassa University is organizing the First National Conference on Agriculture, Natural Resources and Climate Change during April 25-26, 2019. The conference is designed to address five broader sub-themes.

The conference will be held at Hawassa City, the Heart of the Great Rift Valley of Ethiopia, and the HUB of culture and peoples diversity. We hope that the scientific discussions will be lively, enlightening and entertaining, which inform the newest developments and insight under all-sub-themes. Therefore, we earnestly invite all interested researchers to attend the conference.

Ethiopia is making huge efforts to attain socio-economic development and transformation. Higher education (HE) institutions are regarded as driving forces of social changes and development by producing skilled and qualified manpower and generating new knowledge and technologies. One of the mandates of HE is conducting problem-solving research and applying the knowledge and technologies generated thereof in fostering development. In this regard, education, research and community service are key tools to the development of the nation.

Therefore, the purpose of this national conference is to share knowledge, information, create platform and networking among the scientific community for national development and future endeavors.

Key-note lecturers at the Conference

The renowned invited scientists will give keynote speeches to show how the contemporary science and knowledge could address food security issues, natural resources degradation and climate change impacts in the changing world. They will discuss on current issues, gaps and indicate future directions of our nation development trajectory.
